Scroll down for Hot News!, Schedule, Rates, Airline Discounts Click for info on exhibiting and program advertising. Contact the AACT office for sponsor opportunities. Thanks to our sponsors: Tams-Witmark, Music Theatre International, Samuel French The AACT Convention will headquarter in the Millennium Broadway Hotel in the heart of the Theatre District. Registration ($997 double/$1342 single*) includes three nights hotel, two Broadway/Off Broadway shows, workshops and panels, the AACT Awards Party and a reception with playwright Ken Ludwig. Add a night or two at the Millennium Broadway for only $115 double/$230 single per night. (*AACT member rates. Scroll to bottom for other rate variations.) Hot News! Tickets for War Horse, the 2011 Tony Award winning play, have been secured for convention registrants. War Horse centers on the relationship between Albert, a teenager growing up on a farm in Devon, England, just before World War I, and his beloved half-thoroughbred horse, Joey. War Horse is a thrillingly unique theatrical epic in which actors tell the story alongside (and sometimes astride) lifelike horse puppets.
Hot News! Playwright Ken Ludwig will be the guest of honor at the Convention Celebrity Reception on Thursday afternoon. Even if you don't know his name, you will have heard of his plays, which include Lend Me a Tenor, Moon Over Buffalo, Crazy for You, and Leading Ladies. Mr. Ludwig's appearance is sponsored by Samuel French. AACT has acquired 75 Book of Mormon tickets for convention registrants! (Sorry, Book of Mormon is sold out.) The NYC Convention Committee is still checking out some exciting leads for workshops and panels, taking advantage of the talent and resources of the Big Apple. Bookmark this page and watch for your email for details as they develop. Click for a list of Workshops There will also be time to get out and see the sights! Not sure about striking out on your own? The AACT Convention will surround you with friends to share your adventures, provide you with tour options, even teach you the ins and outs of the NYC subway, when to take a taxi instead, and where to get half price Broadway and off Broadway show tickets. You’ll be only minutes from Radio City Music Hall, Lincoln Center, Broadway walking tours, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NBC Studio tours, the David Letterman Show, and shopping ‘till you drop – plus anything you want to eat. Oh, yes, there are also harbor cruises and the Statue of Liberty. What more could you want?! Workshops Click for a list of Workshops Thanks to our sponsors!
